SPECIAL EVENT - Exclusive Q&A With Councilmember Herb Wesson

Herb Wesson, a veteran of Los Angeles-area politics, is in the midst of a race for County Supervisor, to succeed Mark Ridley-Thomas in the County’s 2nd District, which includes Culver City, Inglewood and Compton, and all or part of Los Angeles neighborhoods including Mar Vista, Crenshaw, Koreatown, and La Brea, along with other unincorporated areas of the county.  In this exclusive event, WUF members and guests will have the opportunity to speak directly with Councilmember Wesson and ask questions in an intimate virtual setting. Hear directly from Councilmember Wesson his thoughts and stances on issues – and how they differ from those of his opponent – confronting the Westside and the surrounding areas he would oversee as Supervisor of the 2nd District.

In his campaign for County Supervisor, Wesson’s priorities include, among others: making Los Angeles affordable for all residents; implementing a just economic COVID recovery plan that focuses investments in communities hardest hit by the pandemic, reimagine public safety, continuing the fight to end homelessness in our communities; reducing traffic congestion by investing in the expansion of an access to light-rail, subways and bus lines to more communities; and providing more reliable transportation services in South LA Communities.

All proceeds from this special members only event benefit the Westside Urban Forum. We are an all-volunteer, non-partisan, and non-profit civic organization that is focused on promoting discussion of land use on the greater Los Angeles Westside and of urban trends influencing the entire Los Angeles region. WUF encourages provocative, uncensored discussion, always with a focus on making Los Angeles a more livable place.  As a 501c(6) the Westside Urban Forum is prohibited from endorsing any candidate.

This opportunity was offered to both candidates in Los Angeles County's 2nd Supervisorial District Election.
