Nearly every American city struggles to provide "missing middle" housing -- affordable, comfortable housing that serves working-class residents. Author Max Podemski will lead a tour of missing middle housing across the country, discussing the hidden history, economics, and design -- with clues about how the Los Angeles region can solve its own housing crisis. Podemski will be joined by discussants:

About the author:
Max Podemski is an urban planner, a writer, and an illustrator who currently serves as an urban planner at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, the Los Angeles Times, and KCET. His work has been profiled in a range of media, including Curbed, KPCC public radio, and the Jewish Journal. He also runs an architectural print company called Polkela. Based in Los Angeles.
